Manchester PDC held its Annual General Meeting in October 2012

The MPDC held its Annual General Meeting (AMG) on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 with over 64 invitees from all nine development areas, in addition to multiple stakeholders were in attendance. The theme of the AMG was “PDC on a Mission to Stimulate Economic Growth and Job Creation”.

Greetings were brought by Custos Rotolorum William Shagoury, National Association of PDCs, Mr. Phil Rodriques of the Canadian Urban Institute, Ms. Beverly Boothe of the Social Development Commission, Custos Rotolorum Sally Porteous and Her Worship the Mayor Councillor Brenda Ramsay.

The Guest Speaker was Mr. Lenworth Blake, Vice-President, Commerce, MSME Alliance who spoke passionately about changing Jamaica for the better and left us with these words “Work hard, achieve and live good.”

Mr. Clarence Myers stepped down as Chair after over three years of service to the non-profit. The newly elected MPDC Chairman was Dr. Clifton Reid (also the Chairman of the Brooks Park Committee) and his two new Vice-Chairmen are Mr. Smeadley Reid (Cross Keys DA) and Mr. Desmond Wilson (Williamsfield DA). All three men are some of the most passionate and active community representatives in Manchester Parish and everyone is confident they will do a great job for this upcoming year.
