Manchester PDC continues to move forward in 2011!

Since April 2011 the Manchester Parish Development Committee (MPDC) has continued to blaze the trail with exciting events!
We were honoured to be selected as the organization to have sponsored six (6) projects in the parish of Manchester funded by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund/Rural Economic Development Initiative. These projects are all geared toward creating sustainable life styles for its various stakeholders foremost among these are community members.
The Manchester Implementation Steering Committee (established in April) continues to meet to work on projects coming out of the Manchester Local Sustainable Development Plan (LSDP). The formation of this committee is a joint effort between the Manchester Parish Council and the Manchester PDC. The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for the 1st of November 2011 at the Manchester Parish Council Chambers, commencing at 3pm.
The momentum of the committee has been increased based on a workshop that was held on the 27th of October 2011 at the Anglican Church Hall. This workshop focused on the prioritization of issues in the Development Areas (nine (9) totalling the parish. A triple roti approach was taken where issues were done in the order of the easily achievable tasks (EATs) to the most difficult task for the community. The first tier being projects that the community will be able to do on its own without any external help. The second tier of the roti were projects that will require a level of external assistance and the third tier were projects that will require complete external assistance. The Manchester Implementation Steering Committee will then take the latter projects through the process of planning then execution/implemention then monitoring and evaluation.
You are welcome to contribute to our committee either technically or as a resource person. Please contact us at or 625-9750/52/53.
